TATTOOS & EMBROIDERY
I’ve been tattooing for 25 years, in this time, I have applied thousands of tattoos! Since discovering my machine embroidery addiction in lockdown, i’ve realised the processes are really quite similar. Both need a great understanding of how skin/fabric behaves during application, both need carefully chosen colour palettes and the knowledge of what sequence layers these should be applied, both have varying outcomes depending on these processes and both need an incredible amount of patience.
These are a couple of examples of how my needle art worlds collided and it’s something i’d like to explore further with some tattoo flash/embroidered patch designs in the future.
BUSINESS MERCH
My friend and apiarist, Dani, wanted her tattoo to reflect her love for her bees. I designed this piece around the queen bee, this image then influenced Dani’s “Queen Bee” organic merchandise that now accompanies her bees fabulous honey to local markets.
